Sons of Sardaar first look: Ajay Devgn released the first poster of his most ambitious movie Sons Of Sardaar. Sons of Sardaar is based on the epic battle of Saragarhi wherein 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesmen.
For nearly a year now, actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn has nursed a dual dream. One is ‘Shivaay’, which releases on Diwali this year, and the other is his next home production, ‘Sons of Sardaar’.
Ajay Devgn released the first poster of his most ambitious movie Sons Of Sardaar. Sons of Sardaar is based on the epic battle of Saragarhi wherein 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesmen.
Ajay when asked on why he chose to concentrate on both the movies simultaneously told that he has a big production company which can definitely manage to do multiple projects. Besides Shivaay and SOS, he has other two movies in pipeline.
The actor also said that they will try to match the movie’s scale to that of the Hollywood war film ‘300’. The Battle of Saragarhi was fought in September 1897 between 21 sikhs and 10,000 Afghans. The Sikhs lost their lives in the battle.
The battle occurred in the North-West Frontier Province and is now named the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is part of Pakistan. The 21 Sikh contingent was led by Havildar Ishar Singh and they all fought to death. Apparently, they had a brave cook too who also fought with them and died. So they were actually 22 of them.
Ajay Devgn has always pulled it well when it comes to playing a patriotic role in his films. His role in ‘Bhagat Singh’ won him accolades, and this one too seems promising.
The movie is huge and has a lot riding on it. As a result, the research has to be extremely extensive and in depth. Ajay does not want to rush with this project as this deal with history and you have to go through a script hundred times before finalizing it.
Meanwhile, Ajay is busy in Shivaay’ that is releasing on October 28. Produced and directed by Ajay Devgan under his banner Ajay Devgn FFilms. It features Ajay Devgan and Sayyeshaa Saigal in the lead roles. Mithoon composes the film’s score and soundtrack.
