Looks like 2015 is turning out to be a memorable year for Nandamuri fans. It all started with the blockbuster success of Kalyan Ram’s Pataas. The film, made on a modest budget of 9 crores, went on to collect more than 16 crores, bringing cheers to all the N fans. During the audio launch function of Temper, Young Tiger NTR confidently announced that 2015 will be a Nandamuri Nama Samvatsaram.
And then, Temper had a dreamy run and pulled NTR out of his flop streak and collected huge shares. Even though several distributors lost out on their investments in some areas, the overall result still gave the much needed boost to NTR’s limping career. And now, the senior Nandamuri hero, Balakrishna, thrilled the fans with the mass masala entertainer, Lion.
Delayed shows due to last minute financial crunch, weak publicity, mixed reviews from critics and ordinary word of mouth, none of these setbacks could control Balayya’s impeccable command at the box-office. The film amassed around 5.5 crores on its first day and even the second day witnessed 80-85% fulls, ensuring the film collect more than 5 crores even on the second day.
With two more days left for the weekend and the growing craze for the film, Lion is poised to recover 1/4th of its investment in its first weekend itself. With no big films releasing until this month end, Lion is all set to rule the jungle. Nandamuri fans can now be sure that 2015 will indeed be termed as a Nandamuri Nama Samvatsaram.
