Early life:

Christina Crawford is an American writer and actress, best known as the author of Mommy Diest, an autobiographical account of child abuse by her adoptive mother, actress Joan Crawford. She had roles in various television and film projects such as the soap opera The Secret Storm and Monica George in the Elvis Presley film Wild in the Country.

Christina Crawford was born in Los Angeles, California in 1939 to an unmarried teen. According to his personal interview with Larry King, his father was married to another woman and is believed to be in the Navy; His mother was unmarried. Crawford was adopted from a baby broker in Nevada after Joan was formally refused adoption by Social Services in California in 1940 for being an unfit candidate.

Crawford says that Joan did not have a positive relationship with her mother or with her brother, which, along with the conclusion of Social Services, contributed to her multiple divorces. Crawford was one of five adopted by Joan. His siblings are Christopher, who was adopted in 1943, and twin girls, Katherine (Kathy) and Cynthia (Cindy), who were adopted in 1947.
