Early life:

McHale was born in Rome, Italy, where his father, Jack McHale, served as Dean of Students at the Loyola University Rome Center. His mother, Laurie, hails from Vancouver, Canada; And her father is from Chicago, Illinois. Of Irish and Norwegian descent, he was raised Catholic.
