Dhanush In Agni Natchathiram: Tamil actor Dhanush has been roped in to play the lead role in the remake of Mani Ratnam’s 1988 blockbuster Agni Natchathiram. Bollywood’s Malayalee director Bejoy Nambiar, who made “Wazir” with Amitabh Bachchan, will be directing this movie.
Tamil Star hero Dhanush has been roped for a remake of Veteran director Mani Ratnam’s 1988 classic “Agni Natchathiram”, which featured Karthik and Prabhu in lead roles. The film was a super hit in 1988 Tamil and its Telugu dubbed version titled “Gharshana” was also a super hit. Bollywood’s Malayalee director Bejoy Nambiar, who made “Wazir” with Amitabh Bachchan, will be directing this movie.
The film is originally planned Vicky Kaushal and Harshavardhan in the lead roles. They were roped to play famous roles Ashok and Gautham which was played by Karthick and Prabhu respectively. Now sources say Vicky Kaushal is replaced by Dhanush to play the most admired role. It is said that actor given nod to the film and unknown whether Dhanush plays as Ashok or Gautham. The official confirmation is awaited.

As per the sources Vicky had walked out of film due to date issues. The film set for shoot from August to October for 3 months where actor had given dates for another film and had no option to continue with it says report. Bejoy Nambiar had directed Vikram and Jiiva starrer David film released on 2013. His latest out was Wazir, the crime thriller that features Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar in leads.
Dhanush had made his successful Bollywood debut with ‘Raanjhanaa’ opposite Sonam Kapoor directed by Anand L Rai. His second Hindi film was ‘Shamitabh’ and this will be his third Bollywood film.

Now, the rumours are helding that Dhanush has been roped for this role, and he will be playing the role that Karthik essayed in the original, while Harshvardhan will be playing Prabhu’s role. The filmmaker has made some changes in the script to make it suitable for Dhanush.
