Does this evidence prove Brian Laundrie didn’t kill Gabby Petito? – Film Dhamaka

The saga of Brian Laundrie and his late fiance Gabby Petito continues. As more & more evidence begins to surface, police & news outlets are getting a better picture of what the final days for Petito looked like. While the questions continue to pile up, answers have been much harder to come by as the Laundrie family has largely chosen to remain out of the limelight and tight-lipped about their son’s whereabouts.

The case has captured the attention of worldwide media & true crime enthusiasts alike, clamoring for any nugget of information they can get as if Petito was their own family member that disappeared. While pleas from her actual family have gone unheard by those that know what happened, there has been no shortage of help from the rest of the country. Dog the Bounty Hunter & John Walsh notably are claiming to be on the case.

What we know

Gabby Petito and her fiance Brian Laundrie set off on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to see the country on July 2nd, 2021, a full year to the day after announcing their engagement on Instagram. They purchased a white Ford Transit van seven months prior, specifically for the trip. From July 4th to August 12th, they visited multiple places in Kansas, Colorado, and Utah.

On August 12th, witnesses called police to an altercation in Moab, Utah, where bystanders reported a physical encounter. Laundrie had scratches on multiple places on his body, but the report stated he didn’t strike Petito. Laundrie was almost arrested, but police separated them for the night since both parties said they were fine and declined to press charges. Laundrie was driven to a motel, and Petito was given the keys to the van.

Nina Celie reported on Instagram that she witnessed Laundrie & Petito engaged in an explosive argument in a restaurant in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on August 27th. While she noted it wasn’t necessarily between them since Laundrie was screaming at the hostess and Gabby Petito was crying and profusely apologizing, he was very visibly angry. It was the last time the couple was seen together.

Petito’s last contact with her family was on August 30th in text messages, although her family questions whether or not their daughter sent them. Laundrie returned to North Port on September 1st, alone in the van. He went camping with his family, and they all declined to discuss what happened with anyone. Laundrie wasn’t seen again.

Petito’s family reported her missing on September 11th. Authorities attempted to speak with Laundrie but were directed to the family attorney. They took the van as evidence and reportedly found some “materials” that police would further investigate. Laundrie was officially named as a person of interest in the case on September 15th.

Manhunt

On September 17th, Laundrie’s family reported their son missing. What followed was a search for Laundrie that began in a vast Florida Wildlife preserve; his family claimed he went camping. At the same time, the FBI searched the mountainous park in Wyoming for Petito.

On September 19th, human remains were found that resembled Petito. Medical examiners later identified her body, and an autopsy ruled her death a homicide. Armed with a search warrant, police & FBI swarmed the home Laundrie shared with his parents and scoured it.

After dive teams joined the search of Laundrie through forbidding swamps littered with alligators, snakes, and other wildlife, an arrest warrant was issued for Laundrie on September 23rd.

New evidence

New evidence has come forward that changes the timeline in Gabby Petito’s case. While the original timeline suggested that Laundrie & Petito got back together after the altercation in Utah and remained that way until the sighting in Jackson Hole on August 27th, new evidence suggests a different series of events.

Laundrie’s sister, Cassie, claimed Monday that Laundrie flew home on August 17th, days after the altercation in Moab. The purpose of the flight was to obtain some items and clean out a storage unit that he & Petito had shared. He flew back to Salt Lake City, Utah, purportedly to rejoin Petito and continue their trip.

Does this change the suspicion placed on Brian Laundrie in the death of Gabby Petito? Why would he clear out the storage unit? Does it show they were thinking of putting down roots in Utah? Let us know your theories in the comments below.

  1. “On August 12th, witnesses called police to an altercation in Moab, Utah, where bystanders reported a physical encounter. Laundrie had scratches on multiple places on his body, but the report stated he didn’t strike Petito.”

    WRONG.
The witnesses told 911 that ‘the male was slapping the female.’
