Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar is Back’ may not have got all rave reviews from critics, but the film recorded the highest opening day collections for this year with close to 13 crores grossed at the Box Office on the day of its release.

Within a week the film crossed the 50 Crore mark and if all goes well, the film might just enter the Rs 100 crore club in the coming weeks. Although the film is going to face some stiff competition from Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Piku’, but the action film does not face much competition in the single screen market.

The film which also stars Shruti Haasan as the female lead has got a great response especially from smaller cities. The film has succeeded in making a decent rapport and Akshay has once again proved why he rules the Box Office with ease each year and remains one of the hot favourite of directors and producers alike.
