After his extensively praised Delhi-based movie Vicky Donor, acclaimed director Shoojit Sircar is now geared up to release his upcoming family comedy-drama film ‘Piku’, which interestingly is as well based in Delhi.
Piku is a quirky take on the daughter-father relationship that centers on the daughter Piku (played by Deepika Padukone) and her crazy world with beloved father (played by Amitabh Bachchan). The film also stars Irrfan Khan who is seen romancing with Deepika in it.
Director Shoojit Sircar recently quoted while having a conversation with a leading daily, “Piku is an architect, who like any other independent girl, works on her own terms, runs her own small business, is undecided on what will happen in life and has an old father to look after in a cosmopolitan city. In the film, I have tried to put the audience in between their everyday life. I want them to start living with them and dealing with their problems.”
Produced by MSM Motion Pictures, in an alliance with Rising Sun Films and Saraswati Creations, ‘PIKU’ will be distributed worldwide by Yash Raj Films. The movie is slated to release in theatres on 8th of May, 2015.
