Gautham Vasudev Menon, director of Ajith’s latest hit film Yennai Arindhaal, has stated categorically that if he ever got an offer to direct a Hollywood film, he would cast Ajith Kumar as the hero in that film.
Menon participated as ‘chief guest’ at the annual day celebrations of a Tiruvannamani engineering college. After giving his customary speech on the importance of education and advising the students to fare well in the examinations, Menon addressed a question-answer session.
To a query about whether he would direct Vijay in future, Menon said: “I have so far made 14 films as director. I sure would like to make a film with Vijay in the lead for which the story I’m planning to narrate would have to satisfy him. He has to believe in the script and agree to work with me for our film to happen!”
“Before I directed Kamal Sir in Vettaiyadu Vilaiyaadu, I narrated the script to him and won his approval in just 15 minutes,” he added. To another query as to who was his favourite actress, he said that in his opinion, only an actress who could speak a language fluently can be considered a good actress. “On that count, Samantha is very fluent in 3 languages and I like her a lot; I also like Trisha!”
To a fan’s question as to whom he would choose as the hero if he ever got to direct a Hollywood film, pat came the reply from Menon who said ‘Ajith Kumar’.
