There has always been a good market for the Kamal Haasan films in the US and Canada. His films in the past have done well in these regions, following which there was a scramble for Uthama Villain’s distribution rights.
According to sources, the deal has been inked and Prime Media and Raaj Kamal New Frontiers will be distributing Uthama Villain jointly. To be released on April 2nd, the film is in the last leg of post-production with the censor certification due to happen very soon. Directed by Ramesh Aravind, actor and close associate of Kamal Haasan, Uthama Villain has music by Ghibran.
