The story of ‘Kohinoor’ develops during the 1987-88 period. It was a time when Mohanlal’s ‘Rajavinte Makan’ and Mammootty’s ‘Athirathram’ were such a rage among youth. Louis (Asif Ali) wishes to be like Vincent Gomas and Tharadas, the heroes in these movies. If not, at least become a junior Vincent Gomas or Tharadas; to earn wealth and name and thus become famous. When Louis set out with such an aim, he is joined by his close companion Aandikunju (Aju Varghese), Haider (Indrajith) from Mumbai, Freddy (Sunny Wayne) from Kochi, and Freddy’s friend Nicholas (Chemban Vinod Jose). They together make plans and their attempts to accomplish these plans are humorously plotted in ‘Kohinoor’ directed by Vinay Govind. Aparna Vinod is the heroine.

Bhavana does a prominent role. The other roles are handled by Thyagarajan, Mamukkoya, Sudheer Karamana, Johny, and Meghanathan. The story and the script are written by Ranjeet Kamala Shankar and Salil Menon. The lyrics by Harinarayanan are tuned by Rahul Raj. Pradeesh Varma wields camera for the movie. ‘Kohinoor’ is produced by Asif Ali along with Sajin Jaffer and Brijeesh Mohammed under the banner of Adam’s World of Imagination.
