There is nothing memorable in the storyline nor does the film could do a convincing act in presenting the plot still ‪Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials has plenty of action, thrills and create some amount of scare in you. The sequel is a mixed bag of all these and is a watchable film provide the baggage of expectation as a highly thrilling Science fiction movie is just left outside the cinema halls.

Beginning from the conclusion of the first part after escaping from the Maze, Scorch Trials has Thomas and his team of gladers going behind and uncovering the mysterious plans of a powerful organisation called WCKD. This takes the gladers to the Scorch, which is a huge devastated land without human population but home to zombies.

The limited doses of thrills and the cat and mouse game between the gladers and WCKD do offer some spine chilling and adrenaline rush moments in favour of the movie. Compared to the second half, the first half lack pace and takes time to establish the flow of the movie.

Though visual effects were nice, about the 3D, I felt it was not at all required and I could not see much of its effects on screen. But what takes the film forward as an entertainer is its breathtaking visuals captured by cinematographer and the feel of the Scorch as a barren land with lot of mysteries surrounding it. Performance from the young crew lead by Dylan O’Brien were mostly positive.

Overall, in my view, Maze Runner; The Scorch Trials is better than its predecessor offering uninterrupted action throughout except for some brief stopping and slowness . Its an entertaining experience with its action packed and energy infusing screenplay (though with a confused storyline) but lacks something and falls short settling to be an above average movie. The rating is three out of five.
