Nayantara, the actress who has completed more than a decade in Tamil films, is still going great guns as a heroine, which is no mean achievement. A heroine’s shelf-life is considered to be for a maximum period of 10 years by which time she would have lost her ‘freshness’ and market value. However, it is not the case with Nayantara, who has as many as five Tamil films on hands at this very moment.

Nayantara’s latest film Nannbenda has been declared a ‘hit’ even as reviews are raving about her looks in the film. Busy with Tamil and Malayalam projects, Nayantara was fortunate to be paired up opposite superstar Rajinikanth in the record-breaking film Chandramukhi which was only her second film in Tamil after she debuted in Hari’s Ayya opposite Sarathkumar.

Except Kamal Haasan, Nayantara has starred opposite all the leading heroes in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. The actress, who made a brave comeback in films in late 2013 after staying away from the film industry post her much-publicized break-up with Prabhu Deva, is courted even by heroes who are younger to her. She now has Masss with Suriya, Thani Oruvan with ‘Jayam’ Ravi, Idhu Namma Aalu with Simbu, Maya with Aari and Naanum Rowdydhaan with Vijay Sethupathi besides a Malayalam film.

Thanks to a string of successful films as well as women-centric films, Nayantara is said to have hiked her fee to a phenomenal Rs.2.5 crore per film, which is a sum which had never been touched by any Tamil heroine in the past. As she is the most sought-after heroine, she is likely to get what she demands; after all, isn’t it her right to make hay while the Sun shines ever so brightly?
