The trailer of Omung Kumar’s upcoming film Sarabjit was out yesterday. The film which is a biopic on the life of a Punjab farmer Sarabjit Singh who was sentenced by a Pakistan court on the grounds of terrorism and his sister Dalbir Kaur who battled for his equity. Bringing off with Dalbir and her family in their more satisfied times and in flashes a wounded Randeep Hooda being pummeled in prison, the trailer sets a spirit blending temperament from the start.
Soon after, we can witness a de-glam Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looking for her missing sibling, who is caught in Pakistan as she trespasses to Pakistan, one night. While the tale of Sarabjit Singh merits telling, the trailer appears to concentrate more on highlighting Aishwarya’s acting ability and her energy to enliven, the baffled and significant existence of Dalbir. However, Randeep Hooda proved himself as a tremendous actor yet again. It inspires us with the lead cast and their acting yet as a story what it needs on an essential level is giving us an essence of the frightful legislative issues that was included in the Sarabjit’s case. From the look of it, the trailer is, even more, a group pleaser finished with components that make you pity and sympathetic to the characters.
I wish Omung had been somewhat bolder considering we are living in the seasons of Kanhaiya Kumar and if JNU understudies can concoct a tempest, an effective medium like silver screen needs to pull up its socks and give us a 360 degree perspective of a questionable story as this. Certainly, there’s a whole other world to appear in this story than a couple of shots of a separated Aish searching for her brother. From an artistic point of view, Aishwarya and Randeep both nailed it. Let’s wait and watch!
