Venkat Prabhu and Suriya joining hands for the first time with Masss, which has Nayantara and Pranitha Subhash as leading ladies. Yuvan Shankar Raja has done music for the film.
In a recent interview Suriya said that, “Masss would appeal not only to the elders and the youths but also to the children. Though the script is not children-oriented, we made it in such a manner that the children would take a liking to it”.
“I was initially apprehensive in committing myself to Venkat Prabhu’ horror film as last few years have become seasons for such films. I finally made up my mind after Venkat Prabhu narrated the script. We should have worked long back together. Venkat Prabhu has made Masss not merely as a horror film but has incorporated many things into the film’s script to make it as interesting and as enjoyable as possible”.
“Nayantara, Pranitha, Parthiepan and Samuthirakani have worked very hard for the film. Karthi has always spoken high of Venkat Prabhu’s making skills. Masss is the first film under our combination and would be a milestone in each of our career,” he added.
To another query, Suriya said that he was under no pressure whatsoever to tone up his muscles for the film. “I didn’t need to take off my shirt and I don’t think it is mandatory for me to do it in each of my films!” he added.
He also revealed that the title Masss was nothing but an abbreviated form of the name of his character in the film: Masilamani.
