Sahid Kapoor plays a Punjabi rock star, Tommy Singh, in his forthcoming film’Udta Punjab’. The actor adopted the swagger, style and lingo of rock musicians for the role. Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, the movie, which releases on June 17, also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh.
‘Udta Punjab’ is based on the issue of drug abuse that the Indian state of Punjab has been orientation. This is Chaubey’s third film as a director after’Ishqiya’ and its sequel,’Dedh Ishqiya.’
