According to latest reports, Ajith’s latest release Yennai Arindhaal has slowed down at the box office. Yennai Arindhaal was released in above 400 screens in Tamil Nadu and a total of 1100 screens worldwide on 5 February. Now the latest news is that, the film is making only reasonable business in limited screens that too during weekends only. Reports say that the screen count has come down to 40 centers only in Tamil Nadu and it is still being run in 15 A centres and the remaining at B and C centres out of 40 centers.
According to trade reports, Yennai Arindhaal has about 20 shows in other parts of the world and has grossed over ₹100 crore recently. Kollywood sources expressed that the Ajith starrer might only reach the 50 day mark in countable screens with this rate. Traders opined that back-to-back release of big films like Anegan and Kaaki Sattai showed some impact on the film. Sources said that the film Yennai Arindhaal received mixed reviews from the day of its release.
The movie was praised for decent storyline and its narration in typical Gautham Menon’s style. Ajith’s electrifying presence along with the brilliant performance of Arun Vijay, impressive acting of Trisha and the decent storyline worked in favour of the film. On the business part, the film has performed comparatively less at the box office keeping Ajith’s standards in mind. But the earnings of the movie are not as bad as believed by many as it was narrated in Gautham Menon’s style. According to the latest reports, the movie grossed ₹14. 05 crore on the first day in India, in Tamil Nadu alone, it had earned about ₹10.80 .
