Dulquer Salmaan, the young super star of malayalam cinema is now busy with the shooting of his much awaited film Kammatti Padam. the film directed by Rajeev Ravi. According to the latest reports the female lead for the Dulquer starrer is finalized. whether it was characters like Anna in Annayum Rasoolum or Anjali in Njan Steve Lopez, which was played by Andrea Jeremiah and Ahaana Krishna respectively. the female protagonists were not the usual dolled up heroines. the director, who is known for his realistic portrayal of women in his films has roped in Shaun Romy to act alongside with Dulquer in Kammatti Padam.
The period film will showcase Kochi’s old-world charm and Shaun Romy will be playing one of its initial residents. in a recent chat with the actress, she open up about her character in Kammatti Padam. “My character in this film is a native of Kadavanthara, who was a resident here long before Kochi turned into a city. It was a challenge to play the role especially because iam a city-bred girl and it needed a lot of homework”. even before starting the shoot, she had visited Kochi to get to know about the actual inhabitants of the city. “I spoke to a lot of such people who work in shops, markets and beauty parlours. It helped me learn the true Kochi slang, and gave me insights into the character,” she added.
After completing the first schedule in Mumbai, the team have started the final schedule in Kochi. the film’s supporting cast includes Vinay Forrt, Vinayakan and Shine Tom Chacko. this period film is penned by actor-director P Balachandran. the cinematography is handled by the state award winner Madhu Neelakandan and the film is produced by Global United Media Company Pvt Ltd.
Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan will next be seen in Sameer Thahir’s Kali. the film will have Premam fame Sai Pallavi in the female lead.
