Madaari Box Office Collection: Irrfan Khan- starrer Madaari grossed Rs 4.45 crore worldwide on its opening day, according to its makers. The film collected Rs 3.25 crore in India and Rs 1.2 crore overseas, said a statement from the representative of the movie.
Madaari is a Indian social thriller film directed by Nishikant Kamat, presented by Bharat Shah and produced by Shailesh Singh, Madan Paliwal, Sutapa Sikdar and Shailja Kejriwal and co-produced by Kshitiz Bhardwaj. The film stars Irrfan Khan, Vishesh Bansal, Jimmy Shergill, Tushar Dalvi and Nitesh Pandey and was released on 22 July 2016.
Madaari hasn’t taken a good opening at the Box Office. The film was never expected to take a flying start but still, collections were expected to be reasonably good at the least. After all, last year when Irrfan’s Talvar, which belonged to a similar genre, had arrived on the Gandhi Jayanti weekend [2nd October] and that too in straight competition with hardcore commercial ‘masala’ biggie Singh Is Bling, it had still managed 2.5 crore on its opening day. However, Madaari had just about managed to approach the 3.25 crore mark and that too with only Kabali alongside it, which has limited audience in Hindi markets.

The thriller, which sees Irrfan and director Nishikant Kamat team up again after the award-winning Mumbai Meri Jaan, has been lauded by the film fraternity too. Many from the industry praised Irrfan Khan on Twitter.
Madaari was never a competitor for Kabali. Superstar Rajnikanth’s Kabali came out with a lot of expectations. As per the reports, Kabali made 12.93 crores on Friday which includes both Telugu and Tamil market. The flick had a gloomy day. Kabali came out in more than 4000+ theaters. The talkie came out in a less number of theaters, and there’s Sultan too in the theaters. Madaari didn’t make the collections it was expecting on day 1.
Madaari is on the same lines as Highway. The Alia Bhatt starrer had brought in 3.25 crore on its Day One and then escalated over the weekend [13 crore]. Madaari would have to cover quite some distance in the remainder of the weekend to come anywhere close by.
