Shraddha Das Wants To Work In Serious Films: Actress Shraddha Das, who is seen in the “Great Grand Masti”, says that after such a sex comedy, she wants to do a serious film on the lines of “Masaan”.

Shraddha Das is an Indian film actress who has appeared in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali films. Shraddha Das was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra to Bengali parents. Her father is a businessman, who hails from Purulia, her mother is a housewife. She was brought up in Mumbai, where she completed her studies. Shraddha graduated from University of Mumbai at SIES College of Commerce and Economics with a Bachelor of Mass Media degree in journalism. While doing her graduation she worked in theater and attended workshops conducted by National School of Drama artists like Piyush Mishra, Chittaranjan.

She also acted in print advertisements like McDowells, Aristocrat and over 400 catalogues before training at the Gladrags academy.

Shraddha said “After Great Grand Masti film, I would definitely like to do a serious film. I want to balance it out with a serious and commercial film now. From the kind of work I come from, I have done serious roles in the past, I have done workshops under Piyush Mishra and have taken training under numerous NSD (National School of Drama) artists, I would like to show my acting skills a lot more.So, definitely something serious like a ‘Masaan’ maybe balance it out with a commercial film.”

She said after Great Grand Masti type of genres “I knew that this is the kind of film that will get me to the masses, which would get me the popularity that I need and opens up several avenues for an actor. In the 3-4 films that I have done, I feel that I have done different kind of characters. For me, ‘Great Grand Masti‘ is a commercial film and the best way to reach a larger range of audience.”

Shraddha, who has done numerous films down south, was last seen in a sensuous avatar in the Mannara Chopra starrer “Zid”. She has also featured in Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji” and the National Award winning film “Lahore”.
